Hurricane Billet Pushrod Bases for Stock XL Pushrod Covers

If you have a 91-03 XL or 91-02 Buell and you're sick of ugly, leaky pushrod tube bases, NRHS has the solution! Machined from 6061T6 billet aluminum, these bases work as good as they look, eliminating the flimsy piece of pot metal that flexes and leaks. Works with your stock pushrod tubes. Includes new seals and bolts. No XL or Buell should be without them!

NRHS Hurricane valve springs are developed from high strength alloys, including premium strength chrome silicone steel. Manufactured with state-of-the-art equipment, all of our springs are also heat treated and stress relieved, resulting in a dramatic increase in spring life. They provide the stability needed for high rpm, high lift racing engines, as well as the longevity needed for your high performance street engine.

Complementing these superior springs, we offer premium quality NRHS Hurricane retainers and 10 degree locks. Our retainers are precision CNC machined from aerospace quality titanium, finished to an exact tolerance, and offer a 40% weight reduction over steel retainers. NRHS valve locks are precision machined from 4140 chrome moly bar stock, heat treated for maximum strength, and treated with black oxide. You simply cannot buy better retainers and locks!

Hurricane Chrome Moly Adjustable Pushrods

NRHS is proud to offer our own line of super strong adjustable pushrods. We looked at all the features we wanted in a pushrod and incorporated them into this product. We started with high strength heat treated seamless 4140 chrome moly tubing, for outstanding rigidity under even the most demanding conditions. “Mae West” ends accommodate high lift cams without concern for the end coming out of the rocker arm seat. 5/16” adjuster nuts are stronger than an adjuster screw with wrench flats as commonly used on other products. The tube itself has an integrated nut at the bottom to make adjustment easy. Twin Cam and Evo Big Twin sets include different lengths for intake and exhaust to maximize the amount of thread engagement and make the assembly stronger. Available in ultra stiff .065 straight 3/8” wall design, or a tapered design for the ultimate strength to weight ratio without the rub problems common with 7/16” pushrods. Tapered style are also available sized for fast installation (fast install available for Big Twin & TC88 only).  Available for standard applications or specify custom working length, wall thickness, and whether or not you need oil holes. Custom fixed length (non-adjustable) pushrods also available.

Collapsible Pushrod Covers

Tired of pulling the rocker boxes off your Sportster or Buell to access the pushrods? But wary of leaky collapsible pushrod covers? We’ve tried’em all, and this is the set that works! There is absolutely no need to put up with leaky collapsible pushrod tubes on your Sportster or Buell. Aluminum tubes minimize pushrod rub problems as well.

Roller Rocker Arms

High lift cams and high pressure springs need the extra strength and reduced friction offered by quality roller tip rocker arms. Roller tip rockers significantly reduce valve side loading which extends valve and guide life. S&S rockers are the best units we’ve found. Made from super strong heat treated & shot peened 4140 forgings, they feature ¾” long shaft bushings for more support, a modified lubrication system that provides unrestricted roller oiling, and an arm shape that offers more rocker cover clearance than competing products. As with all aftermarket rockers, adjustable pushrods are required. Note that the 1.725 ratio rocker arms generally require corrections to valvetrain geometry and are therefore recommended for professional engine builders only.

Tappets

Don’t take chances with your valvetrain, use a high quality tappet from NRHS! We have used JIMS Powerglide and Hydrosolid tappets extensively and they are a premium quality, reliable piece. A high performance tappet anti-rotation pin set should be used in 1995-1999 Sportster and Buell engines, as the stock tappet pins are supported on only one side and are prone to failure in high performance applications.

Hurricane valves are not bolt-in; they are designed for professional installation. Stem protrusion and other parameters must be set up by the installer.

Hurricane Valve Guides

NRHS Hurricane valve guides are constructed of bronze manganese and offer the heat dissipation benefits of an alloy guide as well as being gentle on any type of valve material to avoid sticking. Attention to flow characteristic has also been taken into account with a significant gain over stock.  These guides require special seals sold below. Note that these guides must be sized for the correct valve stem clearance, using a ream and/or hone.

Hurricane Valve Guide Seals

If you are a Harley-Davidson or Buell owner you probably have either experienced or heard of someone who’s experienced OEM or low quality valve guide seals. These new Viton rubber seals from NRHS solve those issues. Made of specially formulated Viton rubber with a metal jacket, these seals absolutely will not come off the valve guide and will live in temperatures that will melt Teflon and OEM seals. Seats

 We offer premium quality valve seats constructed of tungsten alloyed chrome, molybdenum, and vanadium to create an extremely strong tool steel.
